The Exploration Company in Italy: Engineering the Future of Space

The Exploration Company (TEC) is expanding its presence in the country to establish a strategic hub for advanced space logistics, propulsion systems, life support systems and mission operations.

The country’s aerospace sector has a deep legacy of engineering excellence, from propulsion advancements to high-precision manufacturing and Italian aerospace hubs - Turin, Rome, and the Po Valley  - are home to some of the world’s most advanced capabilities in propulsion, precision engineering, and space systems integration.

TEC’s Italian Chapter

TEC has a European DNA, co-founded in Germany and France. Italy is a natural next step for expansion. In Italy, TEC focuses on:

Docking& In-Orbit Services – Developing high-precision systems designed for autonomous docking, ensuring seamless integration across different spacecraft and mission architectures.

Sustainable Propulsion & Heavy-Lift Systems – Driving advancements in high-thrust, sustainable propulsion to meet the growing demands of deep-space exploration and heavy-lift launch vehicles.

Mission Control & Operations – Enhancing autonomy with a control center for secure and independent logistics.

Life Support System – Where Italy is already a top global player, with a special focus on constand speed.

All these technologies can serve both defence and civil purposes.

Beyond technology, TEC Italy fosters industrial collaboration, engaging suppliers, startups, universities and research institutions to expand opportunities in the evolving commercial space sector. For example, TEC works with CIRA, Politecnico University of Torino, Politecnico University of Milan, La Sapienza in Rome, Novaeka, Civitanavi, Persico and Avio among others.

A Call to Build the Future Together: Join the Mission

TEC brings to Italy the New Space approach: private capital drives early development, and governments join later as anchor customers. This model shortens development cycles, reduces reliance on public funding, and strengthens Europe’s autonomy in space.

With new space stations on the horizon, the need for cargo, servicing, and in-orbi operations is surging.

We look forward to engaging more and more with the Italian ecosystem.
